Established in 2017, the Mountain Mamas project was initiated by Bye Bye Plastic Bags and has ever since been empowering local women in Bali, on the slopes of mount BatuKaru. Before this opportunity, these women came from the rice fields with simple skills, house skills. Now, they have the opportunity to help their families as each Mama has been given the training skills to produce these handmade alternative bags from donated or recycled material.

One Island One Voice (OIOV) is our Bali-based campaign where organizations & businesses share expertise, data and knowledge to improve best practice and sustainable solutions. Starting from 2017 until now, One Island One Voice did annual Bali’s Biggest Clean-Up with so many locations all over Bali with one vision.

As young change makers, we are strong believers that real change happens in the classroom. That is why we talk to many students during school presentations. To actively get young students involved, we created an environmental, educational booklet.

We believe that once you know and learn about a problem, you want to be a part of the solution. We want youth to know and learn about the waste problem, so they can be a part of the solution. We believe that the Indonesian youth will lead towards a sustainable & green future.

The KOMITMEN initiative was launched by One Island One Voice and Bali’s many local sustainability partners to eliminate unnecessary plastics from our daily lives and business operations.
